Don Bosco’s Konkan Development Society (KDS), in collaboration with the Verna Industries Association (VIA) and the Office of M.L.A. Shri Aleixo Reginaldo Lourenco, delivered remarkable results through its recently organized Job Fair in South Goa. The event drew over 270 registered candidates, reflecting the strong local demand for stable career pathways. In a striking outcome, more than 100 youth received job offers on the spot, demonstrating the fair’s effectiveness in rapidly connecting young talent with prospective employers. For many participants, direct access to recruiters eliminated the delays and uncertainties associated with online applications, providing an immediate interview experience and concrete employment opportunities that significantly boosted their confidence and career momentum.

Youth employment remains a significant challenge in Goa. Despite high literacy levels and a growing industrial landscape, many young people struggle to find suitable roles due to skill–market mismatches, limited exposure to formal recruitment processes, and over-reliance on digital application systems that often yield slow or uncertain outcomes. Responding to these gaps, KDS adopted a targeted approach to the Job Fair, aiming to accelerate employment access, enhance youth readiness, and reinforce the connection between education, industry, and community networks.

The preparations were strategic and youth-focused. KDS conducted a comprehensive Candidate Orientation Session ahead of the event to ensure participants understood company expectations, interview etiquette, and role-specific competencies. This enhanced their preparedness and enabled them to present themselves confidently to recruiters. Simultaneously, KDS collaborated closely with participating companies to map job requirements, match them with candidate profiles, and ensure a well-coordinated process on the day of the fair.

The event drew participation from 21 leading companies spanning key industrial sectors and offering diverse opportunities for individuals with varied educational and skill backgrounds. Manufacturing and Pharma leaders—including Microlabs, Cipla, and Pentair Water India—recruited for roles such as Process Technicians, Site Engineers, and Quality Control personnel. The Hospitality and Tourism sector was represented by renowned establishments, including Radisson Blu, Heritage Village, and Bambolim Beach Resort, which offered positions such as F&B Associates, Front Office Executives, and Stewards. The IT and Administrative sectors added further depth, with openings for React.js developers, IT Support staff, Accounts Executives, and Finance Managers, signalling rising demand for both technical and managerial talent.

To ensure a seamless and professional experience, KDS set up dedicated interview booths supported by an efficient volunteer team, enabling companies to conduct structured assessments throughout the day.
