Five-Day Spiritual Direction Training for Leaders of Trichy Salesian Province
The skill of guiding others spiritually is a crucial aspect of leadership and a disposition of the heart. In response to the growing need for both initial and ongoing formation of Salesians, the Salesian Province of Trichy conducted a five-day workshop on Spiritual Direction from November 19 to 23, at Alaihal-Don Bosco, Manikandam, Trichy, animated by Father Sundar Wilson OFM. A total of 36 Salesians took part in the training.
Father Sundar Wilson, a Franciscan priest from Amala Annai Province, is a counselor and psychotherapist with over thirty years of experience. Each day of the workshop featured four sessions, each lasting 90 minutes. The initial two days focused on self-awareness and enhancing listening skills. Father Wilson introduced many methods and techniques, encouraging participants to practice them diligently for three months before reconvening in February for further training.
The five-day workshop served as a training program and a live-in experience for leaders to renew their relationships with one another. Provincial Father Agilan, Vice-Provincial Father Xavier Michael, and Economer Father Amaladoss, as well as the leaders of various communities, participated in the training.
