Don Bosco Students Step Into the Future with AI-STEAM Partnership

For the students of Don Bosco School, Moti Nagar, Hyderabad, the future arrived in their classrooms. The institution has become the first in the Hyderabad Province of the Salesian Congregation to partner with International STEAM Research (ISR) in the USA, bringing hands-on AI-STEAM experiential learning to young learners.
The collaboration promises to move beyond rote learning, immersing students in robotics, coding, virtual reality, and artificial intelligence — skills that align with India’s National Education Policy (NEP 2020) and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
Fr. Peter Gopu, Director of Don Bosco School, described the initiative as transformative: “By empowering our students to apply their knowledge in innovative ways using the ISR Experiential Learning framework, we will nurture a generation of problem-solvers equipped to tackle the challenges of the future.” He emphasized the school’s commitment to creating a “psychologically safe” environment where students can experiment without fear of failure.
The excitement is palpable among students. A group of Class 7 learners shared: “We are extremely excited and looking forward to learning these new technologies in our school.” Their peers in Class 8 echoed the sentiment: “We are very lucky to have these facilities. It makes us feel prepared for what’s coming.”
The partnership arrives at a critical juncture, as experts estimate that 75 per cent of today’s jobs will be reshaped by automation and artificial intelligence. Don Bosco’s adoption of ISR’s 7 Es cycle — a research-based model shifting focus from “what to learn” to “how to learn” — ensures that students are not just observers of this change, but architects of it.
As Aristotle once noted, “For the things that we have to learn before we can do them, we learn by doing them.” Don Bosco School, Moti Nagar, is putting that wisdom into practice, empowering its students to redefine the future.
