Don Bosco School, Thenzawl, held a two-day animation and motivation programme for teachers and students on August 3 and 4, focusing on effective teaching, Salesian pedagogy and the holistic development of young people.

Fr George Maliekal SDB and Fr Arul Kumar Sebastian SDB served as resource persons for the programmes. Fr George animated the teachers on the theme “How to Be an Effective Teacher”, addressing practical aspects of teaching and accompanying students. He also explained the provisions of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and shared practical guidelines for its implementation in the school.

Students of Classes 8, 9 and 10 participated in a motivation programme animated by Fr Arul Kumar Sebastian. On the first day, Fr Robert Faustin SDB and Sir Finbaar Buckley also conducted sessions for students of Classes 6 and 7.

The second day of the teachers’ animation was led by Fr Arul Kumar Sebastian, who focused on the Salesian Preventive System and Salesian Pedagogy. The afternoon sessions involved group activities, discussions and sharing, helping teachers reflect on their educational mission and pastoral responsibilities.

The programme sought to strengthen the teachers’ vocation as educators, guardians, motivators, and formators, while encouraging greater commitment and a Salesian spirit in their accompaniment of students.

The school management expressed its appreciation to Fr George Maliekal SDB and Fr Arul Kumar Sebastian SDB for their valuable contributions and practical inputs.
