The Rosary English Medium School turned into a center of hope and guidance as the Job Placement Team of the Panjim Province of the Salesian Society of Don Bosco conducted a career exploration session for 180 students of grades 8 to 10.

The initiative, part of the Don Bosco Job Placement Network (JPN), aimed to broaden horizons for rural youth by highlighting career opportunities in technology, healthcare, education, and entrepreneurship. The session began with an introduction to JPN’s services, which link students to skill-building programs and job opportunities nationwide.

“We are not just talking about jobs; we are guiding you toward a life path that resonates with your strengths and dreams,” said JPN coordinator Mr. Noah Rodrigues, encouraging students to think beyond conventional choices.

The program included a detailed roadmap of post-10th standard options, addressing high-demand sectors such as engineering, healthcare, technology, and vocational training. Interactive exchanges enabled students to raise concerns about scholarships and affordable higher education—critical issues in a region where only 40 percent of rural teens continue their studies beyond high school due to financial constraints.

Students welcomed the session with enthusiasm. “I never knew there were so many options beyond engineering and medicine. Now I feel I can plan better,” shared one participant. Another added, “The guidance helped me see that even in our town, we can build a career without moving far away.”
