Don Bosco Job Fair Connects Hundreds of Youth with Employment Opportunities in Guwahati

Bosco Reach Out, with Don Bosco Job Placement Network India, hosted a Job Fair at Don Bosco Institute in Guwahati on June 10, helping youth and job seekers meet potential employers. The event brought together recruiters, facilitators, and candidates from diverse backgrounds to expand access to jobs.
Fr. Ignatius Gari SDB, Executive Director of Bosco Reach Out, addressed the gathering, thanked all partner organisations, recruiters, and participants for their support and cooperation in making the initiative successful. The Chief Guest, Shri Bhaskar Mili, Assistant Labour Commissioner, commended the organisers for their efforts and encouraged them to continue working towards the welfare and empowerment of unemployed and marginalised youth.
The Guest of Honour, Fr. V. M. Thomas, Founder-Director and Adviser of Don Bosco Institute, motivated participants by highlighting the expanding employment prospects within India and abroad. He urged young job seekers to equip themselves with the necessary skills to take advantage of emerging opportunities.
More than 300 job seekers, staff members of Don Bosco Institute, representatives of the Don Bosco Job Placement Network India, priests, and religious sisters attended the inaugural programme.
Over 17 leading recruiters from various sectors across India participated in Job Fair 2026. Six companies participated online, while eleven conducted recruitment drives onsite. Together, these companies offered more than 500 job vacancies across multiple industries.
A total of 420 candidates registered for interviews, and an additional 157 candidates appeared for walk-in interviews. The recruiters offered employment to 66 candidates and shortlisted 91 for subsequent rounds of selection.
Fresh graduates and experienced job seekers attended the fair in large numbers, underscoring the growing demand for employment support initiatives. Organisers described the event as a significant step towards bridging the gap between employers and job seekers, and promoting sustainable livelihoods for young people.
