Don Bosco Industrial Training Institute, Kurla, held its Convocation Ceremony for the academic year 2024–25 on September 26 at the Fr. Santino Mondini Hall, marking a milestone for 171 trainees from the 2023–25 and 2024–25 batches. The event brought together dignitaries, faculty, parents, and students in a celebration of achievement and values.

The ceremony began with the National Anthem and the traditional lamp-lighting, led by Chief Guest Mr. Javed Qureshi (QHSE Director, APAC & ME), Guest of Honour Mr. Jaiprakash Harishchandra Vaishya (Director & Founder, Cosmos Integrated Solutions Pvt. Ltd.), Rector and Director Fr. Tony Pinto, Principal Mr. Amarr Prabhu, and Institute Topper Master Qadri Afzal Mustafa. A prayer service and song set a reflective tone before Principal Prabhu formally opened the convocation.

A highlight of the event was the felicitation of Master Mustafa, who achieved an overall score of 98% with a perfect 100% in his second-year results. Certificates were then presented to trade toppers and graduating trainees.

In his keynote address, Mr. Qureshi emphasized the importance of discipline, lifelong learning, and adaptability in the era of Artificial Intelligence. “The concern is not if AI will take your job, but whether someone who knows AI will,” he said, sharing stories from BMW and the “vanilla ice cream case” to underline problem-solving and customer focus.

Mr. Vaishya inspired trainees by drawing on his experience as a marathon runner, urging them to cultivate resilience, endurance, and a commitment to continuous upskilling. Kaizen Certificates were also awarded for innovative trainee projects.

The ceremony concluded with a Vote of Thanks and the stirring rendition of “Jai Jai Maharashtra Mazha,” leaving participants with a renewed sense of pride and purpose.
