Don Bosco Chandur Alumni Return' Home' for Joyous Reunion and Renewal of Bonds
Don Bosco Junior College, Chandur, came alive with nostalgia, gratitude, and laughter as nearly 200 alumni gathered for a grand Past Pupils' Meet on November 8. The event celebrated decades of Salesian education, lifelong friendships, and the enduring values imparted by the Salesians of Don Bosco.
Established in 1983, Don Bosco College has long been a beacon of hope and education for the youth of Chandur and neighbouring regions. Rooted in the Salesian spirit, the institution has shaped generations through affordable, value-based education and holistic formation. The reunion provided a poignant opportunity for former students to revisit their formative years and express heartfelt gratitude to their mentors.
The program began with a warm welcome from Fr. Rajesh, Correspondent and Rector, who joyfully greeted the alumni, referring to the college as their "home forever." Fr. Thala Wilson, Principal and himself an alumnus, delivered an emotional address recalling his own student days and the guiding influence of his teachers. He also announced the formation of a Past Pupils' Association, aimed at strengthening alumni bonds and promoting collaborative initiatives for the institution's future growth.
Fr. Noel, Delegate for Past Pupils of the Hyderabad Province (INH), highlighted the lifelong connection that alumni share with Don Bosco institutions. "There is no past pupil once you enter Don Bosco; you remain forever a student here," he reminded, encouraging all to continue embodying Don Bosco's spirit of learning and service.
The event was further graced by Mr. Narasimha, Superintendent of Police, Suryapet, who credited his professional achievements and life values to his days at Don Bosco. He fondly recalled his principal, Fr. Pandy, and expressed deep gratitude for the Salesian guidance that shaped his path. Several other distinguished alumni and retired faculty members shared personal reflections, celebrating the college's legacy and mission.
Cultural performances by current students added colour and energy to the celebration, reflecting the vibrant Salesian ethos that continues to animate the institution. The day concluded with touching moments as alumni paid homage to their teachers—many kneeling in respect and gratitude—renewing the bond between past and present generations of Don Bosco Chandur.
