Don Bosco Youth Animation South Asia (DBYA-SA) organized an annual seminar on Youth Ministry, a formative programme for young Salesians [Training of Trainers (TOT)]to equip themselves on various Salesian documents and methods to live the Salesian charism with the young people from September 19 -21,  at Don Bosco Provincial House Matunga, Mumbai. There were 19 participants from the five provinces of South India animated by Fr. John Christy INM, Fr. Joji Yeruva INH, Fr. Leon Cruz INB, Mr. Peter Das and Fr. Patrick Lepcha DBYA. The seminar is organized alternatively for South Asia's Northern and Southern regions.

Fr. Savio Silveira, the Provincial of Mumbai Province, presided over the Holy Mass and invited all to live by Don Bosco's dream and mission. Don Bosco did everything because he wanted to give Jesus to the young people, which was revealed to him during his first missionary dream at the age of nine. Fr. Silveira focused on the six-year plan of the Rector Major Cardinal Angel Fernandes Artime, where he challenges all to return to the neediest and poorest section of the young people.

Later, at the inaugural talk, Fr. Savio Silveira presented the relevance of the Strenna of 2024, “The dream that makes you dream: Transforming wolves into lambs.” He paraphrased the Strenna by saying, “Dreamers who make young people dream.” We need to leave a mark on the world just as Don Bosco did in his lifetime and take care of the aspirations of the young people. He also explained the four categories of dreams that young people dream, namely, selfish dreams, small dreams, no dreams, and given-up dreams. The Salesians are called to inspire dreams, inflame dreams, and leave a mark in the lives of young people like Don Bosco.

The resource persons dealt with various themes like the current situation of the young people in India, Predilection for the young, Educating and evangelizing, Youth ministry a Synodal Experience, Preventive System, Art of Accompaniment, Youth Ministry Dimensions, Updated Youth Ministry Documents and the Traits of Salesian Youth Ministers. Mr. Peter Das, who has spent more than twenty-five years in various News Networks and Radio channels, presented how visual media can effectively communicate valuable lessons to young people. He demonstrated creativity and creatively offered robust information through visual media.

The group also had time to discuss how to take forward the Salesian Youth Movement in various South Asian settings. There were also interactive sessions with the Mumbai Province Salesian Youth Movement, an inspiring and homely meeting filled with family spirit and joy. The group was privileged to have the former Rector Major Fr. Pascual Chavez, celebrate the Holy Mass on the feast day of St. Mathew, the Evangelist. During his homily, he emphasized the need to give Jesus to young people like Mathew, who left his tax collection table and followed Jesus unconditionally.

The members participated in the Eco-Canticles, a celebration of the Season of Creation through drama, dance, and singing, organized by the Salesian Youth Movement of Mumbai Province in collaboration with the Archdiocesan Office for Environment. The presence of His Excellency Apostolic Nuncio to India and Nepal, Most Rev. Leopoldo Girelli, Cardinal Oswald Gracias, and the former Rector Major Fr. Pascual Chavez and Fr. Savio Silveira graced the occasion. Through meaningful performances, the young people of various groups highlighted the need to care for the creation in their own little way.
