DBTI Hosts State-Level Skill Competition to Showcase Youth Talent in Industrial Design

News reported by: Noble George sdb (INN)

Don Bosco Institute of Technology (DBTI), New Delhi, hosted a State-Level Skill Competition on January 9 in collaboration with the Directorate of Training & Technical Education (DTTE), Government of NCT of Delhi, reaffirming its commitment to empowering youth through quality skill education and dignified employment

The competition assessed competencies in Industrial Design, with a focus on Mechanical Engineering CAD and CNC Milling. It provided trainees from DBTI and various government Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) a platform to demonstrate their technical proficiency, creativity, and readiness for industry. A panel of experienced jury members drawn from government, training institutions, and industry ensured a fair and rigorous evaluation process.

Participants from DBTI included three trainees—Mr. Nitesh Xess, Mr. Ashish, and Mr. Manish Joshi—while Mr. Md. Dilshad, a pass-out candidate from Government ITI Pusa who completed AutoCAD training at DBTI, competed in the Industrial Design CAD category. Four trainees—Mr. Ansh, Mr. Pawan, Mr. Anuj, and Mr. Tushar Singh—from Government ITI Mayur Vihar also took part in the competition.

Beyond testing technical skills, the event fostered confidence, discipline, and a spirit of healthy competition among participants. Serving as a preparatory step towards the upcoming IndiaSkills competitions, the initiative aligns with the long-term objective of participation in the WorldSkills Competition, scheduled to be held in Shanghai, China, from September 22 to 27, 2026.

Selected candidates will undergo structured boot-camp training and advanced preparation as DBTI continues to mentor and accompany young talent toward excellence, global standards, and international competitiveness. https://worldskills2026.com/
