AMAR Media Festival Inspires Youth to Spread' Hope in Your Feed, Kindness in Your Clicks'
On the bright and promising morning of November 8, the AMAR Media Festival 2025–26 came alive with colour, creativity, and youthful energy at St. Mary Mazzarello Youth Centre, Wadala. With the inspiring theme "Hope in Your Feed, Kindness in Your Clicks," the festival brought together students from Standards VIII to X across ten schools from the Gujarat and Maharashtra regions. Each school was represented by ten enthusiastic students, accompanied by a teacher and a sister.
The day began with a lively band procession led by the talented students of Auxilium High School, Ahilyanagar. The Chief Guest, Sr. Meenakshi D'Silva, FMA, Provincial, along with other dignitaries, was warmly received amid a vibrant display of banners and placards celebrating unity in diversity.
In a unique blend of faith and technology, the guests were welcomed by robots and digital companions—ChatGPT, Gemini, Facebook, YouTube, and Instagram—symbolizing the harmony between human values and digital innovation. A futuristic security scan and robotic greeting set a cheerful and engaging tone for the day.
The celebration began with a solemn prayer service invoking God's presence, followed by a graceful welcome dance performed by students of Auxilium High School, Pali Hill, which captivated the audience with its elegance and artistry.
Declaring the festival open, Sr. Meenakshi D'Silva addressed the gathering with a heartfelt message on responsible media use. She encouraged students to harness the power of technology to share goodness, positivity, and faith—urging them to make every click count toward building a more compassionate world.
A touching tribute followed—a short film titled "The Inspiring Legacy of Sr. Phyllis Fernandes: A Life that Gave Birth to AMAR – A Beacon of Creative Communication"—honouring the visionary founder of the AMAR Media Centre whose life continues to inspire young communicators to use media as a force for truth and goodness.
The festival's creative competitions—ranging from video-making, poster design, and reel creation to collage art, dance, photography, and a lively media quiz—filled the campus with enthusiasm and innovation.
The afternoon highlight was a moving skit by students of Auxilium High School, Ahilyanagar, depicting the life of St. Maria Troncatti, whose selfless service among the tribes of the Ecuadorian Amazon reflected the day's message of compassion and hope.
Concluding the vibrant celebration, Sr. Betty Menezes, Media Coordinator of the Province and In-Charge of the AMAR Media Centre, delivered the vote of thanks, expressing heartfelt gratitude to all who contributed to the festival's success—a joyful celebration of creativity, kindness, and faith in the digital age.
