134 Youth Secure Jobs at Don Bosco-KCYM Job Fair in North Paravur

A Job Fair at Maria Teresa Scrilli Public School, North Paravur, organised by BREADS – Career Guidance, Training and Job Placement Services, Bengaluru, in collaboration with the Don Bosco Job Placement Network (DBJPN) and the Kerala Catholic Youth Movement (KCYM), provided employment opportunities to unemployed youth from across Kerala.

Hosted by the KCYM Diocese of Kottapuram, the recruitment drive brought together 19 companies from sectors including finance, manufacturing, IT-enabled services (ITES), retail, human resources, and marketing and sales. The event attracted 328 job seekers, of whom 134 secured on-the-spot selections.

The initiative aimed to bridge the gap between employers and job seekers, giving young people direct access to recruiters and promoting meaningful employment and career development.

Inaugurating the programme, Msgr. Rockey Roby Kalathil, Vicar General of the Diocese of Kottapuram, urged participants to equip themselves with the skills and competencies required to succeed in an evolving job market. Fr. Neil Chadayamuri praised the collaborative efforts of KCYM and the Don Bosco Job Placement Network in creating employment opportunities and supporting unemployed youth. Ms Rachel Cleetus, President of KCYM Kottapuram Diocese, extended her best wishes to the candidates.

Addressing the gathering, Mr Harish, Programme Manager of the Don Bosco Job Placement Network, introduced the services offered by DBJPN and demonstrated the JOBS DBI mobile application. He highlighted the collaborative employment initiatives undertaken by KCYM, the Indian Catholic Youth Movement (ICYM), and the Government of Kerala. He also urged candidates to engage confidently with recruiters and continue preparing for competitive examinations to broaden their career prospects.

The Job Fair was coordinated under the leadership of Fr. Ditto Koola, State Director of KCYM; Fr. Neil Chadayamuri, Youth Director of the Diocese of Kottapuram; Fr. Gabriel Karunaraj SDB, National Director of the Don Bosco Job Placement Network; Fr. Tony Varghese SDB, Regional Director of the Job Placement Network; Mr Shibin Shaji, State President of KCYM; Mr Sam Sunny, State Vice President; and Mr Joyal John Roy, State Programme Coordinator for the Job Fair.
